MoogLab at Big Ears

BobMoog
The Bob Moog Foundation will once again be bringing its Interactive Sonic Experience, or MoogLab, to Big Ears 2010. The interactive Lab will be located within the Big Ears Hub – on the 5th floor of the Woodruff building.

It’s a veritable pedal-stomper’s paradise – theremins and synthesizers, all hooked up to various Moogerfooger® effect pedals, with each station providing a different sonic experience.

This was a real highlight of last year’s festival and we expect it to be a popular stop for festival goers again. Make sure you stop by Moog Lab at Big Ears and get your fill of analog goodness!

All stations in MoogLab will be demonstrated by Bob Moog Foundation’s creative and technical volunteers, who will guide participants to a better understanding of the instruments. The stations will also be available for Big Ears performers for jamming or clinic opportunities.

As an exclusive to Big Ears, the Bob Moog Foundation will also be featuring items from Bob Moog’s extensive and historical archives, including notes, schematics, photos, vintage audio recordings and articles. Preservation of the archives is one of the Foundation’s three projects, which also includes teaching children science through music and the creation of a Moogseum in Asheville, NC.
